200 word reflection

I have learnt many meaningful things this year. For one, I have learnt how to write an intriguing story. Dialogues are often added to make it more lively and real. A successful story will fully captivate the reader and encourage him to read on. To achieve this, proper plotting is required. Even though I enjoy writing a narrative story, I find that having a word limit of 500 is too little. However, I suppose that summarising the story into 500 words is part of the training that we have to undergo.
Also, I find that the technique "show but not tell" is not as simple as it sounds. I myself have a problem doing that when writing narrative compositions. I find that the lessons can be made more interesting by giving us more hands on activities, for example, writing a story in groups or stuffs like that. This will make the lesson more interactive and different.

I agree with you that the 500 word limit is too little. Me myself also have trouble sometimes fulfilling that word limit. Most of the time, i overshot the limit and as a result, i need to cut down on some points. I also like the group discussion but i feel that some group member just slack and let the rest solo the whole worksheet...
